Distances

10K (6.2 mile) run, and 4.5 Mile Mayor's Fitness Walk.

Location

Both events start at Spencer Butte Middle School and finish at Skinner Butte Park in Eugene, Oregon.

Directions

In Eugene, there will be two shuttle pickup locations (at 5th & Pearl for Runners and 4th & Mill for Walkers).  There is no parking at the start.

Chip Timing
This year's event will be chip timed with the Ipico Sports timing system, based upon a gun start.  Participants will receive a timing chip at packet pickup which will need to be attached to the shoe with a provided zip tie.  These timing chips are the property of Eclectic Edge Racing and will be collected at the end of the finish chute.  There will be proper chip placement instructions in participant packets - please review these directions and DO NOT loop shoelaces through the timing chips - use the provided zip tie to affix the timing chip.  Participants will also be issued a bib number to be worn on the front, with a pull strip that will be taken at the end of the finish chute.

Entry Fees

$20 with t-shirt through Friday, July 3, $15 without shirt through July 3.  Children 12 & Under are free (without t-shirt) with a registered adult,  event shirts can be purchased for $10.   Entry fees are non-refundable.  There is no race day registration.

Unique Race Competitions
In the 10K Run, special awards will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers, and the top male and female Youth (Under 20), Masters (40-59) and Seniors (60 & Over).   Awards will also be given to the first male and female to the 1 mile mark at the top of the Donald Street Hill (the King and Queen of the Uphill Award), and the first male and female to reach the 2.2 mile mark at the bottom of Fox Hollow Road at the intersection with W. Amazon Drive (the King and Queen of the Downhill Award).

A new tradition begins in 2009 - the Alumni Challenge Cup!  Participants need only to designate the high school they graduated from, and the year to be a part of the competition.  The finish times of participants will be recalculated using the Age-Graded tables, taking into account a participants' age and sex.  After the Age-Graded results are tabulated, the top five finishing times from the same high school in the 10K Run will be added to determine a combined team time, which will determine a winning Alumni team, with a traveling trophy awarded to that school.

Team Competition
Teams in both the run and walk can have an unlimited number of members.  Team scoring in the run is based on the first five finishers times (coed teams must have at least one female finisher count in the total team time).  Team scoring in the walk is based on the number of members on a team.  Every member of a team must submit an individual entry form and be included on the team roster submitted by the team captain.  Click here for a TEAM ROSTER.  The deadline for team registration and team additions is June 25.  Team categories are: Male, Female and Coed.  Team divisions are: Elementary School, Middle School, High School, Collegiate, Open, Masters (40-59), Seniors (60 & Over), Corporate, Government, and Running Clubs.
