1) Add 50 points for each Overall place for Majors (Pear Blossom, Hackers Mile, Scandia Run and Humboldt Half).

2) Submit your best marathon time for 2009.  Best ten overall marathon times to be scored: 250, 230, 210, 190, 170, 150, 130, 110, 90, 70.

3) If a Hacker is the first overall finisher in a race (except Hackers Mile), they earn an extra 25 points.

4) Age division is based on whatever age divisions are used for a particular race - excludes Hackers Mile.

5) There are no age division points given for the Hackers mile - check the finish time bonus schedule below.

6) The total score for the series will be based on the top five scores.  One of your top five scores could potentially be your marathon score.  You can only receive one marathon score (your best time for the year).

7) The entry fee is $20, to be used for end of the series awards.  You will not be eligible for scoring until the entry fee is received.

Penalty/Bonus Points:
"Chicked" - Subtract three points for each female (maximum -9 points)
Female Bonus - Add five points for each Hacker beaten (maximum +15 points)
Hackers Mile Bonus Points: Sub 4:40 (60 points), Sub 4:50 (45 points), Sub 5:00 (30 points)

Notes:
Overall points are based on your finish among Hacker Grand Prix participants only.  For example, if you finish fifth overall in an event but are the first Hacker finisher, then you would receive 100 points for your overall finish.  Age placing (1st through 3rd) points are awarded based on the entire race field and are not limited to Hacker participants.

Overall placing amongst Hacker participants is scored a second time using Age Grade equivalents and points are awarded for places 1-5.  Age placing points will not be awarded at the Hackers Mile.

Series scoring is based on the best five scores (including the best marathon score if you have one).  Runners must participate in a minimum of three races to qualify for overall series awards.  Your age group for the series is based on your age as of the first race in the series.

Scoring Example:
Runner Joe finishes 12th overall in the Scandia Run 10K, but third among the ten Hackers participating.  He also places second overall in the 45-49 division among all race participants and second best among Hackers in the age graded score.  Joe gets triple chicked as three women finish ahead of him.   He scores 130 for overall since this is a Major Race, 40 for age equivalent finish, 15 for age division and loses 9 points for getting chicked.  Joe's total score is 176 points.

Series Winners:
Top 3 overall series points
1st overall female
1st in the following age divisions: 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69

"The faster the run, the sooner the fun."
