Event Description
The inaugural benefit trail run for the National Forest Foundation. The event offers a challenging 14 mile trail course for experienced trail runners and a flatter, 5.5 mile run for less experienced, or first time, trail runners. The event is only half an hour from Eugene in the beautiful Oakridge area.

The Hardesty Trail near Oakridge, Oregon.
Directions
Take I-5 to Hiway 58 (Exit #188A). Take Hiway 58 approximately 20.7 miles to the Hardesty Trailhead.
Entry Limit
This year's event is limited to 100 participants.
Entry Fees
$20 without shirt through Friday, August 8. $30 without shirt, after August 8, including race day. Event cotton shirts can be purchased for an additional $10, event tech shirts can be purchased for an additional $15. Tech shirts are only guaranteed if ordered by Friday, August 1. Entry fees are non-refundable. The first 50 participants will also receive a free nalgene water bottle.
CoursesBoth the 14 mile and 5.5 mile courses are on single track trails. The 14 mile loop course starts at an elevation of 950' and climbs to 4200' at Hardesty Mountain, while the 5.5 mile point to point course rolls with moderate ups and downs and no net elevation gain or loss. The 14 mile trail run is difficult, with a 4.5 mile strenuous climb, a 4 mile steep descent and a final 5.5 mile rolling section. Click here for a

Awards
Awards will be presented in the 14 mile and 5.5 mile to the top three overall male and female finishers and the top three in each age group. All participants will be eligible for random prize drawings. In the 14 mile Hard-Core, the top three overall men and women will also receive gift certificates from REI ($75, $50 and $25 respectively).
Age Groups
14 & Under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & Over
Clothing
Participants in the 5.5 mile will be allowed to drop their clothing bags in a van at the start. Please make sure your name and bib numbers are clearly displayed on your bags - we are not responsible for lost items.
Shuttles
There is no parking available at the starting line of the 5.5 mile race. Participants in the 5.5 mile will need to park at the Hardesty Trailhead and take a shuttle to the start, departing at 7:40am.
Marshals / Aid Stations
Water and energy bars will be available in the 14 mile race at mile marks 1, 2, 4.5, 8.5 and 12, and at at mile 3 of the 5.5 mile race. PLEASE NOTE: Most aid stations are at sections of the course where the trail either crosses a road or turns to follow a road for a short distance - please use caution on all paved surfaces, being aware of traffic.
