Event Description
Join us for a late summer running and walking celebration in scenic Alton Baker Park that supports a great cause in our community - sustainability in schools. Partners for Sustainable Schools is a project of ISEE, the Institute for Sustainability Education and Ecology, 501 (c)(3).  Our mission is to integrate sustainability in all aspects of K-12 education throughout Lane County by bringing together community organizations and educators.  We serve as both initiator of program development and coordinator of an educational sustainability network.  Our desire is to help develop life skills that inspire hope and a positive vision for our future.  We are currently working with the Oregon Green Schools, the University of Oregon, and schools within the 4J, Bethel and Springfield districts.  For more information about our work, please email iseesustains@live.com.   

Distances
This event includes a 5K (3.1 mile) run/walk, and 10K (6.2 mile) run/walk.

Directions
In Eugene, take Coburg Road to Martin Luther King Blvd, turn east to Country Club Road, turn south and then immediately left into the park.

Courses
The courses are flat, fast and scenic, starting and finishing near the pavilions in the park.  The courses follow park roads and bike paths through the park, along the Willamette River, crossing the Autzen and Defazio Bridges for the 5K and the Autzen and Greenway Bridges for the 10K.  Click here for a 10K COURSE MAP.  Click here for a 5K COURSE MAP.  Click here for a PDF printable version of the COURSE MAP.

Entry Fees
$15 prior to June 9, 2009, $20 thereafter.   You can further help support the event by collecting pledges.  Click here for a PLEDGE FORM.

Awards
Presented in the following divisions:  Grades (K-5, 6-8, 9-12) and Age Groups (18-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, 65 & Over)

The top two K-12 students gathering the most pledges will each receive an iPod nano.
